Playboy Playmate Shannon Long is a lithesome lovely from Australia whose angular good looks have graced both the Aussie and American versions of the magazine. Shannon was born in Gladstone, Australia on February 11, 1969, and spent her childhood moving around Queensland with her family, settling for a time where ever her father could find construction work.
In her early teens, Shannon and her family settled in the New South Wales town of Bellina. Soon after turning sixteen, though, Shannon packed up and moved to Sydney to try her luck at modeling. She met with almost instant success, her luscious 36-21-32 curves and petite 5'3" frame providing the perfect combination. Shannon was featured in the September 1985 issue of Australian Playboy, then went on to represent Australia in the 1988 Playboy International Pageant.
Her appearance at the Pageant caught the eye of the U.S. editors, who made her the first Australian Playmate to appear in the American edition of the magazine. After becoming Miss October 1988, Shannon spent the next several years working as a model and traveling the world. In the mid-90s, she returned to Australia and left her modeling days behind. She currently works as a computer consultant.
