Playboy Playmate Pia Reyes is a stunningly gorgeous woman whose stint in the magazine led to a string of b-movie appearances -- and a marriage to an international con man. Pia was born in Manila, the Philippines on July 3, 1964. She moved to the States in her early twenties, with hopes of becoming a successful model and actress.
Pia instantly won over the magazine's editors when she submitted her pics to Playboy in 1988. She packed some surprisingly luscious 36-24-35 curves onto her lean 5'8" frame, and her hypnotic dark eyes and cover-girl face made her an easy choice for inclusion in the magazine. She was named Miss November 1988.
Pia went on to appear in small roles in a string of flicks, beginning with 1993's 'Return of the Living Dead 3' and 'Auntie Lee's Meat Pies.' She has also been seen in a number of straight-to-video softcore erotic thrillers, flicks with titles like 'Alien Abduction: Intimate Secrets,' 'Indecent Behavior III' and 'Sinful Intrigue.' It was while living and working in Los Angeles that Pia met and married Christopher Rocancourt, and the couple had a child together. Only later did it emerge that Rocancourt was an international con man who was known throughout the world as 'the Counterfeit Rockefeller.'
It seems that Rocancourt, the son of a French sign painter, had been living as a con man for years. Claiming to be everything from a lost Rockefeller heir to Sophia Loren's son to a Russian aristocrat, Rocancourt lived a life of luxury from the money he bilked from unwitting upper-crust dupes. He was arrested in a sting operation in Virginia's Hamptons in 2001, only to skip the country upon posting bail.
Rocancourt moved up to Canada, where he claimed to be a Formula One driver. He was arrested in May 2001 after scamming a Canadian couple out of of $100,000 and living for months in a $1500/night suite. He and Pia were both drawn up on charges, but when it came time for sentencing, Pia's charges were stayed. Rocancourt was given one day in prison, after taking into account the 14 months he had been in jail awaiting trial.
Rocancourt was then extradicted to the U.S., where he faces a long list of fraud charges. Pia continues to stand by her man, although her sister Mercedes has claimed that they were both duped by the smooth-talking con man. Whatever the truth may be, we hope that everything works out for the best for Pia, one of the most alluring and exotic dazzlers to appear in Playboy's pages.
