| Behind The Scenes:
"The Pornographer" from
Extreme Associates
It's a typically beautiful Tuesday in Los Angeles, California and even though it is just a little bit after the noon hour, LA is on the move. Freeways are filled with commuters busy not being at work.
Amid it all, porn legend Tom Byron sits in bumper to bumper traffic on the Hollywood Freeway. Across town, on a cramped business district set, director Jane Waters angrily paces about with a cordless phone up to an ear. On the other end of the line is
Extreme Associates president, Rob Black. Waters is clearly angry at the fact that the male lead is late for his scene in today's shoot.
Today is the second day of shooting on "The Pornographer" the first movie for recent E.A. contractee Jasmin St. Clair.
With Byron over a half-hour away (maybe more, depending on the flow of traffic), a search around the set is made to find a fill in (excuse the pun).
Extreme Associates contract boy Damiano pulls out his penis and begins to bring himself to erection.
Damiano notices a small bump just under the ridge of his member and is the first to suggest that he should get it checked out before doing any scenes. The search continues.
Waters turns to St. Clair's "boyfriend" Earl Slate, who is hanging out on set. Although Slate just completed a scene with Jasmin, plans are made to shoot a scene with Slate and later insert Byron's scenes around him.
As plans are made on how to shoot the scene, Byron calls from his car phone to explain that traffic has let up and that he is less than fifteen minutes away. Director Waters calls for a brief lunch break to give the actor a few more minutes to get to the set.
The crew takes in a quick meal of Chinese food and before they can get to the fortune cookies, Byron calls to say that he is downstairs parking his car and will be up in moments.
Waters, who has forgone lunch to make some phone calls, steps out into the hallway to be the first to catch Byron and discuss the tardiness, away from the rest of the crew and onlookers.
Some quick tidying up and the four-member crew are back on set and ready to go.
Byron ducks in with a sheepish look on his face.
He quickly sets aside his phone and personal belongings and steps into the restroom to wash up for his scene.
Afterwards, Byron steps on to the set and apologizes to everyone in
attendance. He then walks over to talk with his co-star.
St. Clair and Byron swap copies of their respective AIDS tests, no condoms will be used today, as is the standard at
Extreme Associates.
Jasmin explains to her co-star that she just began her period the previous day and that she will only be able to do him orally and anally. Touch up make up is applied and the actors move in to their places.
Director Waters calls action and the camera operator moves in with his high-end consumer camcorder to catch the scene.
Today's shoot tells the tale of an inflatable sex-doll that comes to life and signs on as a contract girl with
