| Tyce Bune I started out as talent. I actually started out as an actor in main stream stuff and wasn't making a lot of money at that. So, I got my first offer to do an adult film for a project called "Net Dreams" back in 96. It was an Arrow Productions for Ray Pistol. They gave me the lead roll, and my first scene was with Roxanne Hall, an anal scene.
Roger T. Pipe
They were testing you right off the bat.
Tyce Bune
Yeah, I had to dive in with both feet. After that, my wife and I talked. I've been married to her for twenty one years, so we talked it over. She told me that if I wanted to stay in this business, she wanted me to work towards the production end. I didn't get a lot of work the first year, but in year two, it picked up. We just took any extra money we had and stuck it away. A year ago, last August actually, we had enough money to shoot a couple of scenes. I had a concept and we shot two scenes. We shot the scene with Alexandra Nice and Candy Hill, then shot the scene with Temptress, Phyllisha Anne and Elle DeVyne all on the same day. Then I took those down, paid a guy to do an edit. We edited about a twenty minute trailer and took it around to different companies to show them what I could do. I had just shot my second scene with Seymore whom I met through Brian Williams. I showed it to Seymore's assistant who really liked it. He showed it to Seymore and I got called in. We worked out a deal right then. Seymore owns part of the movie and does all the distribution. He pays for all the artwork for the box and my end of it is the production. I'm in charge of getting the movie made and from there, Seymore takes it and gets it out on the store shelves.
Roger T. Pipe
Four are on the shelves?
Tyce Bune
Actually, five is out now and we're working on six. So far in six, we have a new girl named Raven Moore. She is actually a friend of ours. She did a four way scene that is pretty amazing. It's her first scene in the business and she did everything, including a DP.
Roger T. Pipe
So after five videos, are you sticking with same concept you started with?
Tyce Bune
Yeah, our whole concept behind it is that Tyce is the detail guy. He represents the working man. He's not necessarily educated, just a hard worker who performs a task in life that someone has to do. Whether it's slinging burgers or detailing cars. He just happens to get himself in trouble along the way. The woman he lives with, Fabrice is the affluent half of the team. He rubs elbows with the well to do, but never quite gets there.
Roger T. Pipe
It's interesting you had this idea going since it fits so well with what Brian's doing.
Tyce Bune
He actually hired me a few times for his 'Hot Bods & Tail Pipe' series. One time, he asked me how we should do the set up and I told him I'd be a detailer who was working on a hot car and came over to pick him up. It tied in really well.
Roger T. Pipe
Are these the only films you've directed so far?
Tyce Bune
No, actually I directed 'Booty Duty 8' for Elegant Angel. That was an all DP movie. I was also in all five scenes, so I was busy with that. I just finished directing Dr. Fellatio 19 for Elegant Angel. My very first directorial credit was on a bondage flick, "Disciple Duet." That's all softcore unless you get the European version.
Roger T. Pipe
Now that you've directed eight movies or so, are you thinking of moving on to bigger projects?
Tyce Bune
Oh yeah, I'm thinking features, but beyond that, I want to do stuff that's R rated, stuff that doesn't have sex in it. I really enjoy the acting end of this business. I know that "Beach Bunnies With Big Brown Eyes" is considered Wall To Wall, but you'll notice that in my stuff, we use multiple locations just for the set up. There will be a set up at the beach, then we move to another location for the sex. When I go into the editing bay, the first thing I tell the editors to do is go through all four scenes and edit the dialog. I'll come look at it, we'll touch them up until I'm satisfied, then I tell them to go ahead and edit the sex. I spend about an eighth of the time messing with the sex that I do with the dialog.
Roger T. Pipe
Well, most editors can put the sex scenes together on their own.
Tyce Bune
Absolutely.
Roger T. Pipe
Of the five that are out, which one would you pick as the very best?
Tyce Bune
That's hard. I would have to say number five.
Tyce Bune I think that with the exception of number two, they have gotten better with each one. Starting with number three, each one is better than the last. I don't know what happened with number two. I had a lot of girls flake, and made some last minute replacements. What I do now is just cancel the shoot rather than hire a replacement.
Roger T. Pipe
What about an acting roll that you are especially proud of?
Tyce Bune
There is a scene in number two number four where I get punched in the face at the beach, that was fun. In number five, there is a scene with a local band Jive Pony that was funny. What I try to do when it comes to this genre of movie, is keep it light.
Tyce Bune I think in features, it's OK to have crying and to be serious. In wall to wall, it had better be funny because most of the people watching are guys. If it can make people laugh and then have good sex to follow then we have a good formula.
Roger T. Pipe
You've done a lot of work for other directors. Are they any that you would say are exceptional?
Tyce Bune
Yeah, Michael Ninn. I worked for him in 'Ritual' and it is absolutely one of my best acting rolls ever. Sexually, I still think my best scene is in my own movie, Beach Bunnies with the Big Brown Eyes #04, the fourth scene. It was a four popshot scene.
Roger T. Pipe
You did four pops in one scene?
Tyce Bune
I hadn't worked in like four days so it was just one of those really strange days. The AVN review didn't even mention that scene. I am beyond trying to figure them out I think. Chances are, since it was the fourth scene, they didn't even see it.
Roger T. Pipe
If you could pick anyone in the business to be in your next movie, who would it be?
Tyce Bune
That's really hard for me to say. Names don't mean anything to me. They don't sell any more boxes. I can put a big name on the box and it won't sell any more videos. In fact, the no names might sell more videos. Everyone has seen the name girls a hundred times. You will notice on my boxes, and this is a philosophy that Seymore has, there are no names on the front of the box. He believes that you see the picture of the girl and you're attracted to her or you're not. It doesn't matter if you've seen her before. I go by how well they perform, their looks and their attitude. I don't want to have prima donnas on my set. I'll kick them to the curb.
Roger T. Pipe
Is there anyone you would personally like to work with?
Tyce Bune
There again, I can't answer that. There are girls I haven't worked with who I would like to have in my video, but I'm not one of these guys who will hire a girl just so I can work with her for the first time. That's never a pre-requisite. I am in contact with a lot of different agents and they all give me new girls or send me pictures over the Internet.
Tyce Bune I'll talk to guys who have worked with them. The first question I always is ask is how they were on the set. Did she piss and moan? Did she complain? When it comes time for the anal, do they want you to shoot a minute and a half and then edit the rest. That's really the key for me and I think that is what most fans want as well.
Tyce Bune Sure, some guys have their favorites, but the bottom line is if she's cute and she looks like she's enjoying herself, that's going to turn you on more than anything else.
Roger T. Pipe
Before you got into adult films, were you a fan?
Tyce Bune
No. I'm a fan of acting. I'm an actor at heart, it's what I've wanted to be ever since I was a child. The person I portray as the detail guy is a loose cannon, working class guy who flies off the seat of his pants. In real life, I am very business-like, very calculating.
Roger T. Pipe
You mentioned some non-adult films, which ones?
Tyce Bune
I was in Star Trek- The Next Generation. My name was Lt. Hagler, I died in the episode called "Schisms." I did "Philadelphia Experiment 2" I was a German solider and had a little dialog. I actually died in one scene then did dialog later on in the movie, which is kind of weird, but it works. I did a lot of extra work on "Frasier," "Mad About You" and "Cheers." I had some lines in "The Bodyguard" but they edited them out of the movie. In the movie "Mr. Saturday Night" with Billy Crystal, I didn't have any lines, but there are a couple of really nice two shots. I was his make up artist.
Roger T. Pipe
How do you go from that to porn?
Tyce Bune
I ran into a young lady named Maggie Knowels. She knew I was an actor and we exchanged numbers. Buck Adams was supposed to have the lead in this movie "Net Dreams" and he just bailed on it at the last minute. This was back in the days of the Eliza test where you could get a ten minute test and be ready to. So Maggie calls me up and said she had a part for me in a movie. I fly over to Vegas and found out there was a little more to it.
Tyce Bune That's what I did as quickly as possible. My wife didn't know. She just thought I was making X amount of dollars for making this film. I went ahead and got the test and did the movie. The first thing I did when I got home was tell my wife. I sat down and said 'I just did an X Rated film.' We have a very open relationship. We've done some swinging and stuff, but when we're apart, that doesn't happen, only together. We talked about it a long time and she told me 'I don't have a problem with you doing this, but if you're going to peruse this, I don't want you doing twenty five scenes a month. I would rather you get into the production end of it and work ten times a month.'
Roger T. Pipe
Were you nervous the first time?
Tyce Bune
Absolutely. I was scared shitless. I grabbed some tequila and did a few shots to calm down. The director was Thomas Payne. I was supposed to walk out of the shower with a towel on. He says 'Come out, rough her up a little bit, bend her over and just stick it in her ass.' I was floored.
Tyce Bune Inside of two years being in this business, I have my own video line. That was our goal from the beginning. It didn't quite happen that way. It's kind of funny, they don't have it in the video, but it's a two pop shot scene. I popped on her ass and she started freaking out. It was no problem. I worked it back up and we continued.
Roger T. Pipe
I was doing a little bit of research before this interview, and your name came up in another interview. I don't know if you know this or not, but you are one of Julie Rage's favorite men to work with.
Tyce Bune
I love Julie Rage. We save some history. I have a lot of respect for her husband Greg Steel and love working for him. They're on the East Coast now I believe.
Roger T. Pipe
Yes, in Atlanta.
Tyce Bune
Great, tell him hi for me.
Tyce Bune I have so much respect for that guy. I had only done a couple of movies when I met him. I was at this casting call. There hadn't been a lot of work to that point. There is no work for a middle aged male with an average sized penis. If I was a really big guy, it would be different. So Greg comes up to me says 'So, you're an actor." I said yes, that's what I had been billing myself as. I'd told all the directors that, Jim Holiday, Janie Hamilton, all of them. They didn't say too much. Greg invited me over to his place for an interview and a read.
Tyce Bune He liked it and gave me the lead in his movie "Impact" which was an editor's choice. No nominations for me, but that was only my second movie in the business.
Roger T. Pipe
You did a couple of movies for Greg right?
Tyce Bune
I did "Impact", "News Action." And "Thunder Pussy." We have a good history.
Roger T. Pipe
Great. Is there anything that I didn't cover?
Tyce Bune
Just one thing. The only girl who re-appears in my movies is my wife, Fabrice. That is by design. I never work with her alone, I always share her with another girl. She was in the last scene of number one and the first scene in number three. She has kind of progressed as we go. In the first, she just goes vag, in the second she does anal, in her third scene in number five, she does a DP with Coral Sands and a strap on. In number six, she is going to do a DP with another guy.
Roger T. Pipe
Do you do any recruiting out on the beaches? A lot of the honeys would be naturals.
Tyce Bune
You know, I don't. Honestly, I don't really care for new girls. I will leave that for someone else. I want to get the girls when they are comfortable and natural in front of the camera. I don't want to see girls all stressed out. I don't care about newbies. I happened upon Raven because we've known her boyfriend for years, but she's a woman. She's not a girl. Somebody might get turned on by the scared looking new girls, but not me.
Roger T. Pipe
Well, I guess we're done.
Tyce Bune
I've got some tapes for you, so if you would like, I'm sure my wife could be talked into a little interview.
Roger T. Pipe
While Tyce goes to get some materials, I get to chat with Fabrice for a bit.
You're only working in Tyce's movies, three scenes so far right?
Fabrice
Yes, number 1, 3 and 5 so far.
Fabrice I don't want to do every video because I don't want be over-exposed. I want the viewers to always want to see Fabrice, not feel like it's an all the time thing.
Roger T. Pipe
It's a great character, are you going to stick with that?
Fabrice
Yes. I still play the attorney. I'm his sugar mamma. He lives in my house, I put up with his crap. It's nice, because it's a reversal of the usual. Men are usually taking care of women, not the other way around.
Roger T. Pipe
So you're very first scene was in number one with Alexandra Nice. That one looked like fun.
Fabrice
It was a blast. She is such a sweetheart. Every time I see her, socially or professional, she is such a doll.
Roger T. Pipe
We will be seeing you in some future volumes and Tyce said that in number six, you're with another guy for the first time on film.
Fabrice
Yes, that will be in number six with Raven and her boyfriend Rick.
Roger T. Pipe
Who did you work with in the other scenes?
Fabrice
Shena Steele in three and in five , with Coral Sands.
Roger T. Pipe
Any early favorites?
Fabrice
Coral Sands, so far, but no one can beat Alexandra's personality. Coral is just so hot.
Roger T. Pipe
What are you career plans?
Fabrice
I will continue on with "Beach Bunnies with the Big Brown Eyes.". I wouldn't mind doing other things, but I just want to continue on supporting Tyce and being there for him.
Roger T. Pipe
You've been married for twenty one years?
Fabrice
Yes.
Roger T. Pipe
Congratulations.
Fabrice
Thank you.
Roger T. Pipe
Obviously, this is all fine and fits into the relationship.
Fabrice
Yes, it's fine.
Roger T. Pipe
Any concerns health-wise?
Fabrice
He gets tested every month, he is adamant about that and so am I. Since I am not as sexually active as he is, as long as his tests come back OK, I feel safe.
Roger T. Pipe
Do you feel that the industry is doing enough to keep people safe?
Fabrice
No. I think there are a lot of people who aren't keeping up with their tests and there is a lot more that they could be doing. Because it's the industry that it is, the priority is not there.
Roger T. Pipe
Is "Beach Bunnies With Big Brown Eyes." an all condom line, a no condom line?
Tyce Bune
I will make exceptions based on my own discretion. I do my best to keep it non-condom, but sometimes I'll make an exception if it's someone I absolutely want to shoot. I made an exception with Alexandra Silk because I knew she was perfect to work with Fabrice for the first time.
Roger T. Pipe
How about you, were you nervous the fist scene?
Fabrice
Extremely. It's not so bad because we've done our thing for years, but the camera was there and I knew people were going to be watching.
Roger T. Pipe
What about the dialog, did that make you nervous?
Fabrice
Oh no, not at all. No problem with dialog. I just kind of clicked into the attorney-bitch.
Roger T. Pipe
Great, thank you both, I'll be looking forward to more "Beach Bunnies With Big Brown Eyes." videos.
Tyce Bune
Thanks, Rog
Tyce Bune
Thanks, and thank you to all the readers as well.
