Paul Thomas Definitely, she has so much to live up to, she's so fantastic with women - and she did!
Vivid Team What is the concept behind Maneater and how exactly was it designed to best showcase Janine's "Coming Out" so to speak?
Paul Thomas Well, first of all, we had a very successful run with the "Extreme Close-Up" series we started a decade or so ago. We would start with an interview and segue into the sex scenes. The best of those was the one we shot with Janine. This was a perfect time to use that format again and see how she's changed and progressed over the past several years.
Vivid Team How do you feel this production stacks up against your other work this year, like the Masseuse, which is gaining much favor with critic and is expected to sweep many awards.
Paul Thomas Well, don't be surprised of the 8th Sin takes a lot of awards, it's been getting five star reviews and although the Masseuse is my best drama, the 8th Sin really hits at all levels. But the Masseuse and the 8th Sin are big budget adult films, it's apples and oranges...for what we're doing on video with Maneater, we've definitely hit a home run.
Vivid Team Are you planning any future projects with Janine and if so, what are they?
Paul Thomas Indeed, I'm about to start a project with Janine and Rocco. It's called the Emperor, it's loosely based on Felini's "8 1/2" and "the Emperor's new clothes." I'm really looking forward to working with Janine again.
