Horse racing officials in New Zealand often have their hands full trying to keep the names of the steeds running their tracks G-rated. Sometimes, they even have to seek the aid of the language departments at a nearby university to weed out naughty names rendered in French or German. But on a recent race day they faced a new challenge with a filly named Tulsy Tsan. The name isn’t Latin, Germanic, or even Swahili — it’s English backwards. Upon discovering the bit of backwards masking foisted upon them by the horse’s owner, they refused to let the poor pony run until her name was changed to something more appropriate. Finally, the name Ben Again was opted for.
