Japan Improves Production...
When Japan hosted the Winter Olympics in Nagano, local companies were so proud of an innovative new product they supplied them free to the athletes: condoms made out of polyurethane instead of rubber. Since then, sales have been so good that Sagami Rubber Industries Co. has had a difficult time meeting demand. However, government tests show that more than one percent of samples tested have holes large enough to leak water. “The product has been at the center of attention and we feel very much responsible for consumers,” said an embarrassed company spokesman announcing a recall. “We take it upon ourselves to pinpoint the cause.”
