Dixie Ray Hollywood Star DVD Movie

Synopsis: Lisa De Leeuw stars as Dixie Ray, a one-time Hollywood starlet whose career has hit the fast track to nowheresville. Her star was on the rise, but now it's a new era and the glitz and glamour have passed her by. Dixie's attempting a comeback, but it's threatened when her ex-husband starts passing around some old nudie shots of her. She hires private eye John Leslie to track down her ex-hubby, get the pics and put and end to the blackmail attempt. Before you can say 'Sam Spade,' the P.I. finds himself the target of everything from murderous ambushes to go-go gun molls looking for an erotic edge. In the end, it's the gumshoe who gets the goods on every single female member of the cast. Or should we say gets the goodies? Lisa De Leeuw turns in one of the performances of her career here as the femme fatale, smoldering with sensual allure as she lures Leslie into her torrid trap. The flick is masterfully shot in a facsimile of the film noir style -- all moody shadows and lurid angles. All of the atmosphere adds an extra layer of sizzle to what's already a great sex film. 'Dixie Ray Hollywood Star' in many ways represents the ultimate Golden Age expression of the porn P.I. flick -- crafty plot, luscious women and plenty of sweaty sensuality.

1. Who starred in the movie, and what did you think of their performances?
John Leslie, as a 1940s gumshoe, powers one of the best private dick porn films ever. His job is to retrieve beaver shots of Lisa de Leeuw, a Hollywood has-been who fears the pictures will destroy her comeback. But there's far more at work here. It also features Aunt Peg, Samantha Fox, Kelly Nichols, and Veronica Hart.

2. What did you think of the film's production values?
It's so well shot, and so anthentic, that when mainstreams character actor Cameron Mitchell pops up to interogate Leslie, he fits in seamlessly.

3. How do you rate the film's eroticism?
Searing. And what makes it all the more remarkable is that Leslie is the only guy who scores on screen. And he does it with all the top actresses named above.

4.What did you like most about this movie?
The rich recreation of a 1940s pulp P.I. story complete with all the double and triple crosses, and bad news babes just waiting to ice any guy--or gal-- who gets in her way. To reveal the plot would ruin an enthralling, crotch-tightening experience.

5. What did you enjoy least about this film?
Not much.

6. What is your overall opinion of the film? How would you rate it on a scale of one to ten?
A solid 9 overall, a 10 for John Leslie's stamina.
