Starring: I discovered this French import a few years back. It stars no one you'd recognize, but you'll remember it for the serious, sensitive way it handles its storyline. Alban Ceray stars as a photographer who has a passionate, romantic sex life with wife Patricia Violet. The story revolves around Alban's attempts to recover emotionally and sexually after his wife dies in the car wreck that leaves him injured.

Everything is well shot, and the French backdrops add to the film's exotic tone. when Yoko (not that Yoko) enters the tale, the film takes ona riskier lever or erotica.

It's sexy in the classy way European porn was before American directors went overseas with their video cameras and taped the gonzo gals getting butt-banged.

The relationships between Yoko and her adoptive parent Yves Callas is steamy in a playful, flirty way. Alban has troubles of his own fending of women who want to possess this recently widowed man. But he can't do anything without thinking of his late wife. That will change when Yoko enters his life.

If this all sounds like a drippy couples film, you're right. I can't imagine the gonzo wanting to wallow through a dubbed French porno about death and redemption.

But it is a forgotten film worth remembering. An 8 for those who want a little more than butt-banging babes from Budapest.
